Today on Craigslist

Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, what a veritable smorgasboard today, a 1928 Ford, A Monza and a Mercedes.  This would equate to a 1928 Hot Rod, build it, drive it, a Monza sleeper with a 400 ci V8 and a Mercedes chopped into a mini pickup, all dirt cheap.

Man, the Things People Give Away

January 18, 2008

I must admit Craiglist has got to be Christmas 365 days a year.  Things for sale dirt cheap, good things, combine that with a limited reader base and man the opportunities. I can’t be the only one who knows this so heed my advice…if you have needs get in while you can because I believe the reader base will grow to such it will be like a regular newspaper and not so underground as it has been.

Examples of what I could have received this past week FREE were 1, 1940’s era International Harvester KB series dump truck and 1, 1971 Dodge motor home.  Combine the two and you have most of one complete street rod truck.  Simply this, the KB truck cab mounted on the 71 motor home driveline, scrap the motor home and use the money to finance the project or pay the hauling fee for the two vehicles to your home, either way, SWEET!

Additional note: 2 hours after my above post someone offered a free engine hoist!

COE I saw on Ebay

I think this is cool.  If I had done it I would have put it on a regular super duty pickup drive line so it would be economical to use as a daily driver.

1 Bone Yard, 1000 Dreams

Here in Lagrange, GA, there is a piece of sprawing land owned by a man named Mack Waugh. On this land are many, many vehicles. People will drive by and stop to look, in awe of what they see. Most of the vehicles are in terrible shape but there is a heap that are still worthy projects.  The city has been after Mack for a while, they call it an eyesore, even though Mack lives out in the beginning of rural country.  Mack wants to keep the land and sell the cars.  He’s going to try to sell them in one lot 1st.  If that doesn’t work he is going to reopen the yard and the cars one car at a time and sell the loose parts.  When the cars and parts are gone the yard is closed.  I don’t believe anyone is going to buy the whole yard because they’d have to haul it off the land.  I’m sure he’ll be forced to sell individually.  There will be many opportunities then depending on what he wants for each car.  The following link is an album at Flickr of Mack’s cars that another person took. Enjoy and dream away!

Here’s a Good Elkie Conversion Candidate

My Dad had two 66 Impalas and a 66 Caprice and all were great cars and fast too!  I am a pickup man so I’d have to put a twist on it.

Here’s Another Craig’s List Find

I had one of these once in a 1965 model. It looks the same.  I sold it because it was uber hard to find parts for.  If I  did it all over again, I’d put it on a 70s/80s Chevy pickup frame.

12/31/2007 – I found this today at Craigslist.

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/524219159.html  If I had the funds I’d rescue it and make it into a utility (El Camino, Ranchero).  There’s a heap of unbelievable deals on Craigslist. I told a guy I know about the list and he actually buys cars and resells them, fetching double the purchase price.
